About PLDC

Founded in 1995, the Pennsylvania Leadership Development Center (PLDC) is a nonprofit organization created by school leaders for school leaders. From the beginning, PLDC has been guided by a simple belief: when leaders are supported, schools and systems are stronger.

For nearly 30 years, PLDC has partnered with superintendents, principals, IU leaders, and aspiring administrators across Pennsylvania. Our work is rooted in research, shaped by real leadership challenges, and designed to be used—not just discussed. All of our learning opportunities align with Act 45 and Act 48 requirements and emphasize reflection, application, and growth over time.

Today, PLDC offers four integrated areas of service—Coaching; Courses & Programs; Strategic Assessment & Implementation; and Consulting—to support leaders as they strengthen systems, develop people, and lead with clarity and purpose in their communities.

1. Listen & Clarify Outcomes
We start by listening—really listening. We take time to understand your context, your people, and what success needs to look like in practice. Together, we clarify outcomes that matter, not just goals that sound good on paper.

2. Co-Design the Learning Path
There is no off-the-shelf solution. We work alongside you to design a learning path that fits your needs, your timeline, and your reality. The design is intentional, grounded in research, and aligned to the outcomes you care most about.

3. Deliver + Coach + Apply
Learning only matters when it shows up in daily practice. We deliver focused learning experiences, provide ongoing coaching and thought partnership, and support leaders as they apply new thinking in real time—where the work actually happens.

4. Evidence of Impact + Next Cycle
We pause to look at evidence of impact—what changed, what improved, and what was learned. That reflection becomes the starting point for the next cycle of improvement, ensuring momentum continues rather than fades.
