About PLDC

Founded in 1995, the Pennsylvania Leadership Development Center (PLDC) is a nonprofit organization created by school leaders for school leaders. Established through a statewide collaboration of educational institutions and associations, PLDC was built on a simple belief: strong, well-supported leaders create strong, well-supported schools. For nearly three decades, we’ve helped superintendents, principals, IU leaders, and aspiring administrators deepen their leadership capacity through research-based, job-embedded learning aligned with Act 45 and Act 48 requirements.

Our mission remains constant—empowering educational leaders at every level to build sustainable systems, foster innovation, and lead confidently within their communities.
Today, PLDC provides four integrated service areas designed to meet the evolving needs of Pennsylvania’s PK–12 leaders:

1. Coaching delivers personalized, standards-aligned support that helps leaders reflect, focus, and grow with intention.

2. Courses & Programs offer flexible, research-driven learning experiences—including approved Act 45 pathways—designed for practical application and measurable impact.

3. Strategic Assessment & Implementation helps districts examine current systems, identify priority needs, and design coherent strategies that strengthen leadership pipelines and organizational performance.

4. Consulting Services provide customized guidance in areas such as district improvement, succession planning, and foundation development—drawing on PLDC’s deep expertise in organizational excellence and systems-level change.

Together, these offerings ensure that PLDC remains a trusted partner to educational leaders across the Commonwealth—supporting continuous learning, organizational improvement, and leadership without limits.
